The Toronto Blue Jays, home of Hyun-jin Ryu (36), are looking to bolster their bullpen. Mitch White (29).
“The Blue Jays have acquired reliever Jordan Hicks in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals,” the organization announced on Tuesday (July 31). In exchange for Hicks, the Jays sent minor league prospects right-handers Shem Roberts and Adam Kloppenstein.
They also placed Mitch White on the disabled list to make room for Hicks on the 40-man roster.

The name that stands out here is White. He is known to Korean fans for his resemblance to Chan Ho Park. With the addition of Hicks, White is on the trading block. If no team wants him within a week, he will be sent to the minors or become a free agent.
White was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers to Toronto during the 2022 season. However, he didn’t have much success in Toronto. He bounced back and forth between starting and middling in Toronto, failing to win a single game.
In 2022, White went 5-5 with a 7.74 ERA in 10 games, and in 2023, he went 1-5 with a 7.11 ERA in 10 games and 12⅔ innings.
Unlike last year, he hasn’t gotten any starts this season. That’s because the established starters stayed injury-free. He was mostly used out of the bullpen.
“White posted a 3.66 ERA in 46⅔ innings for the Dodgers in 2021, but hasn’t been able to replicate that form over the past two seasons,” CBS Sports reported.
